Whew. It has been a whirlwind ride since we started our festival season back in August. We picked up a lot of new events this year and they went really well. We met a lot of new friends and we are very excited about the future.
I haven’t been able to spend the time to learn and utilize our new website to its full potential yet but I am getting there. I switched over to the wordpress platform you are currently viewing from a website I hand coded (pain-stakingly) a couple months ago. I did it for 2 reasons. One; I wanted more functionality like a blog and a built in store front (neither of which I have the talent to code by hand). Two; I wanted updating the site, sharing content, and connecting with you lovely folks to be an easy process for you and me.
The site is shaping up but it still has a lot of work on my end so expect changes in the coming month.
We are wrapping up our last 2 festivals this weekend and next before we get a small breather. There are no events on our docket in December of January. This time will be used to stock up and redesign our cart for Renaissance Festival which starts in February.
I can’t wait. I can smell the incense and taste the Scottish Eggs now. That place is my haven and I miss it dearly. It is always a count down until it is here again.
I am hoping to have our fairy line up and running between now and then. Also, lady gnomes! After years of male-centric art, I am finally infusing some estrogen into our line! It is much needed. The men folk have gotten unruly. Don’t worry, I still have a huge thing for bearded men.
On a side note I have been in love with the little baby canvases from JoAnn’s. I bought a bunch of them. Here is one of my creations below. It will have a quote from my favorite book, “All Knowledge is Worth Having”, after the paint dries. Expect to see more of these posted, most of them probably won’t be good but I enjoy it anyways.
Tutorials are also coming to the blog and some exclusively to our Patreon page.
Some planned for the blog are: How to start an herb garden, How to create a fairy garden, How to plant succulents.
Some planned for Patreon are: How to sculpt a dragon, How to design a character, How to recycle clay.
If you didn’t know we have a Patreon Page, *cough cough*, we do. Patreon for those who don’t know is a site where you give a monthly donation of a specified amount of money to small creators. By doing so you become their patron and they give you cool, usually exclusive, stuff. If you are interested in supporting us or want to see what we have to offer visit our page: https://www.patreon.com/claymaiden.
That’s all for now. Hugs and Love.
